Republic wins girls track title at Nixa Invite
The Republic girls track team squeaked out a team championship at the Nixa Invitational track meet. The Lady Tigers earned 128 points as a team, beating Nixa (117), Kickapoo (102), and Ozark (95) and the rest of the 12-team field.
Gracie Troester won two individual events, finished second in another, and also helped the 4x800-meter relay team finish second.
Troester was the champion in the 3200-meter run and the 800-meter run. She was runner-up in the 1600.
Jenna Belcher won the long jump and finished third in the triple jump. Rilynn Finley was just behind Belcher with a second-place finish in the long jump. Riley Brown was third in the pole vault, and Aubrey Haynes was eighth in the triple jump. Ali Poulson finished eighth in the discus.
Republic's 4x100m relay team finished third with a time of 51.32. Gracie Woods, Brooklyn Douglas, Reese Frey, and Jenna Belcher were the members of that team.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Gracie Woods, Brooklyn Douglas, Molly Mason, and Belcher finished second with a time of 1:50.04.
Republic won the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:15.64. The winning team included Woods, Finley, Mason and Probst.
The 4x800-meter relay team — Misora Nambara, Cali Thompson, Probst, and Troester — was second with a time of 10:18.67.

The Republic boys team finished seventh. Cooper Douglas was the lone individual event champion, breaking his own school record in the javelin throw with a distance of 49.0 meters.
Other top boys finishers for Republic included Zion Allen (3rd in high jump, 6th in long jump); Tyreke Williams (8th in long jump); Joey Mullins (2nd in the 800-meter run); Brady Purcell (5th in the 3200-meter run); Braden Ghys (6th in the 200-meter dash); Kendell Curbow (4th in the pole vault); Daniel Fair (8th in the pole vault); Cole Gimlin, Ghys, Daniel Phillips, and Andrew Burgess (3rd in the 4x100-meter relay); Gimlin, Ghys, Treyton Gray, and Burgess (7th in the 4x200-meter relay); Gray, Mullins, Gimlin, and William Payne (4th in the 4x400-meter relay); Payne, Mullins, Purcell, and Aslan Ebisch (2nd in the 4x800-meter relay).
