Richard D. “Rick” Slonecker

Richard D. “Rick” Slonecker, 78, Republic passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Birch Pointe Health and Rehbilitation.
Slonecker was born Oct. 18, 1941 in Kansas City. He was a graduate of Bronaugh High School. He served in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Sandra Bales on Nov. 8, 1972 in Springfield. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 50 years. He was a member of Gate Of The Temple Masonic Lodge. He and Sandra attended Hood United Methodist Church, in Republic.
Survivors include his loving wife Sandra Slonecker of the home; three children, Wanna Gall and husband Don, Debra Gall and husband Michael, and Cheri Helmink and husband Greg; two step-daughters, Susan Glendenning and husband Dale, and Lori Smith and husband Andy; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Sandra Rackley.
A celebration of life for Slonecker will be held at a later date.
