ROY GENE BRECHBUHLER

Roy Gene Brechbuhler, 76 of Battlefield, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at James River Nursing & Rehabilitation in Springfield. He was born May 1, 1947, in Hugoton, Kan., to Roy Calvin Brechbuhler and Jean Brechbuhler. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1965. After high school he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Korea with the 13th Engineer Division as a bridge specialist. He was awarded a National Defense Service Metal as a sharpshooter with an M-14.
Brechbuhler worked for the United States Postal Service for over 27 years as a mail carrier and retired in 2009.  Being a man who enjoyed staying busy and helping others, he later started working for Luggage Works of Aurora doing various jobs and worked there for over six years.
Brechbuhler was a dedicated member of The National Wild Turkey Federation for many years and attended church regularly at James River Assembly with his family, whenever possible.
Brechbuhler is survived by his wife Denise Gaye Brechbuhler of Battlefield; his two sons, Roy Daniel Brechbuhler and Scott Dean Brechbuhler, as well as his four grandchildren.
