Sarah “Jane” Kershner

Sarah “Jane” Kershner, 88, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Cox Hospital in Springfield.
Kershner was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Brighton, to James and Hazel Cross.
Kershner graduated from Morrisville High School in 1951. She then married Bobby “Jack” Kershner in December of 1951. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. They had eight children, Doug, Derryll, Dennis, Don, Dean, Dan, Della and Darin.                    Kershner was a stay-at-home mom until her children were raised and then became a cook at several restaurants. She decided to go over the road with her husband Jack for many years until his health failed and they decided to retire.
Kershner loved many activities. She quilted with her Sycamore Club, was active in her church, and loved animals.

Kershner is survived by her children, Doug Kershner; Derryll (Terry) Kershner; Dennis (Diana) Kershner; Don (Donna) Kershner; Dean (Becky) Kershner; Dan (Becky) Kershner; and Della (Steve) Hembree; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; as well as many friends.            

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Kershner; son Darin Kershner; daughter-in-law Jane Kershner; brother Chester Cross; sister Betty Cooley; sister Norma Stewart; sister Marie Munday and parents James and Hazel Cross.
