Sharon Kay (Frazier) James

Sharon Kay (Frazier) James, 76, of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at her home in Springfield. She was born in Buffalo, on Jan. 14, 1946 to William “Pete” and Nellie Ruth (Smith) Frazier. She was the wife of Durward “Ed” James. They shared 45 years of marriage together.
James graduated from Buffalo High School. She later attended cosmetology school, graduating in 1981. She spent several years working as a beautician and then went into retail working for Kmart stores. Although she worked outside the home for several years, she most enjoyed being a homemaker.
James was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nellie Frazier; husband Ed James and son, Shelby Brian Harris. She is survived by her two step-daughters, Becky Ownby and Rhonda James, both of Springfield and daughter-in-law, Nancy Harris of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with numerous friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. The committal service will be at 3 p.m., at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road, in Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to CoxHealth at Home (Hospice).
Her care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory.
