Shirley F. Fair

Shirley F. Fair, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Republic Nursing and Rehab. She was born February 13, 1935, to Laura Irene (McCollum) and William Roy Tindell, in Joplin, MO.
On November 11, 1956, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Fair, who has been waiting for her in heaven since January 1993. They were blessed with the birth of two daughters, Karen and Kim. Life added an additional special blessing with the arrival of their daughter Sue.
Shirley committed her life to Jesus Christ at an early age. She served as a Youth Leader, teacher, singer and faithful follower of Christ. She poured her love and compassion into her 18-year career at St. Johns (Mercy), where doctors, nurses and staff all knew that every phone call answered, and code called by Shirley was framed in a strong focus on the person behind it. As she did everywhere, she left a legacy of love that could not easily be filled when she retired from the Communications Center.
A loving mother and Nana, she believed investing in her family was the most important accomplishment she could have in life. She was an amazing woman who gave all of herself with unconditional love and an unwavering belief in the potential of those fortunate enough to be in her circle. She reminded her family that the most important things in life were to serve God and have fun, as was often reflected in her humor, sharp wit and renowned sarcasm.
Shirley is survived by her daughters: Karen (David) Pittman and Kim Rose of Republic, Sue (Jeff) Ream of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren Amy (Kody) Tharp of Republic, Amanda Pittman of Clever, Jason (Shawna) Rose of Simi Valley, CA, Jenna (Tim) Maxwell of New Castle, IN, Alexandra Ream of Chandler, AZ, Megan (Nick) Vallor of Ozark, Dillon Rose of Springfield, Michaela Rose of Republic; Great-grandchildren Addison, Brayden and Liam Tharp, Brianna Page, Jonathan Foshe, Delia, Zander, Chase and Tristan Rose, Isaiah and soon-to-be-born Gabriel Vallor.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service on Thursday, October 4, at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic, Missouri. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Republic, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sammy’s Window c/o Foster Adopt Connect* which assists in providing essential needs for children in foster care. This cause was important to Shirley, as she always had a passion for making sure children had clothing and other needs so they would not feel unequal to other children who were more fortunate.
