Shirley Robison

Shirley Robison, 93, passed away June 16, 2022, while in Cox Hospital in Springfield.
Robison is survived by her husband, of 73 years, Gene; sons Dr. David Robison of Willard (wife Sandy); Mike Robison of Dallas, Texas; Steve Robison of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and her grandson Dr. Damon Robison (wife Funmi) of Springfield. Gene, her husband of 73 years, anticipated that he would take the journey to the Heavenly realm first, but for some reason, God didn’t schedule it that way. Gene knows that he will soon follow.
Robison was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Edith, and her brothers Bill and Bob.
Robison was born March 18, 1929 in Leavenworth, Kan. She grew up in Leavenworth and went to KU where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority and met her future husband, Gene.
During their marriage, Shirley and Gene lived in Topeka, Kan., Wichita, Kan., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Springfield and Oklahoma City, Okla. They loved the Springfield area and moved back there to retire.  
She was a devout Christian her entire life. She was a member of various Church of Christ churches, most recently the Sunset Church of Christ.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday June 22, 2022 with the service celebrating her life beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with a private service with only the family present at 1 p.m. Dwight Samuel will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Fair Haven Children’s Home, 3132 N. Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757.
