Republic distance runner Gracie Troester won three medals and broke a school record to lead the Lady Tigers at the Girls Night Out track meet in Springfield. Running at JFK Stadium, Troester finished second in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter races. Troester was also a member of the 4x800-meter relay team (along with Misora Nambara, Cali Thompson, and Kristin Probst) that earned a fourth-place medal.
Troester’s time in the 3200 meters was 11:31.26. That beat the previous record, set by Audra Robinson in 2002, by more than three seconds.
Jenna Belcher earned two individual medals, placing sixth in the long jump and seventh in the triple jump. Gracie Woods also medaled in the long jump with an eighth-place finish. Kristin Probst was runner-up in the 800-meter run. Kailey Manes finished fifth in the high jump, and Alaina Norman was sixth in the shot put.
Two other relay teams earned medals for Republic. The 4x400 team of Woods, Addison Fanning, Molly Mason, and Probst finished fifth. The 4x200 team of Woods, Brooklyn Douglas, Reese Frey, and Belcher finished eighth.
