WANDA MARIE COOK BARNES

Wanda Marie (Cook) Barnes was born April 11, 1937, to Elbert Rue Cook and Ruthie Alberta Lutz Cook in Avondale, Ariz. She passed away Feb. 22, 2023. She had an unwavering Christian faith. Most of her life was spent in Missouri. She retired from Nevada Rehabilitation Center in Nevada, and lived in Republic, from 1999 until the time of her passing.
Barnes had five sons from a former marriage: Roger Gregg, Paul Gregg, Gary Gregg, Michael Gregg and Joel Gregg.
Barnes was preceded in death by her father and mother; one brother, Jerald Norman Cook; sisters Velma Shropshire, Joyce Young, Loris Cook, Dorene Stewart and Ora Lee Greenstreet; sons, Paul Gregg and Gary Gregg; and husband Horace Wayne Barnes.
She is survived by sons: Roger Gregg and wife Carla of Derby, Kan., Michael Gregg of Republic, Joel Gregg, of Kimberling City; sister Martha Jean Weeks of Luling, Texas and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Lee Miller officiating.
