A Republic man was taken into custody after he allegedly attacked another Republic resident at his home and later allegedly stabbed the same man. Timothy Blake Wilkins, 34, was booked into the Greene County Jail in the early morning hours of Monday, Oct. 24.

First incident on Oct. 21
Wilkins allegedly attacked the victim in two separate incidents. According to the probable cause statement in the first incident, on Friday, Oct. 21, Wilkins allegedly hit the victim repeatedly. Police came on the scene, and after securing Wilkins in a squad car, they spoke with the victim. The man told police he loaned Wilkins his cell phone, but when he asked for it back, Wilkins refused, and then struck him in the face twice. The victim said he then left the residence and asked a neighbor to call 911. The victim also said that Wilkins disconnected the negative cable to his car battery because “he believed people were talking through the car.”
One of the officers then spoke with Wilkins, who allegedly said that the victim had “made some program or something that can control people and make them do what he wants.” The officer also reported that Wilkins accused the victim of “killing people and abducting them with his phone,” and said that he hit the victim so he couldn’t have his phone.

Second incident shortly thereafter
According to the probable cause statement in the second incident, Wilkins was placed in the Greene County Jail on a 24-hour hold after the first incident and released on Sunday, Oct. 23. The victim told officers he brought Wilkins something to eat before taking him to a hospital to be admitted for psychiatric reasons. The man also said that afterwards, he arrived home at 3:45 a.m., but woke up six hours later to find Wilkins was in the house. It was later discovered that the glass of the back door was broken enough for a hand to fit through.
The victim said that Wilkins “talked and argued with imaginary people throughout the day.” Later that night, while the victim was watching an Astros game on television, Wilkins allegedly accused the victim of sleeping with his (Wilkins) previous girlfriend. The victim told police he denied this, but Wilkins then attacked him; the victim told officers Wilkins punched him and then kicked him when he fell to the ground and, the victim said he believed, tried to snap his neck.

Wilkins allegedly stabbed victim multiple times
The victim told officers he then managed to get into the bathroom and lock the door, but Wilkins broke through the door and forced him out. He said Wilkins tried to stab him with knives, but the handles would break off, so he would try to find others.
The victim said he managed to get outside and was banging on a neighbor’s door, but Wilkins dragged him to a space in a carport between a concrete wall and a vehicle. The man said he crawled under the vehicle, but Wilkins dragged him out, and he was armed with a butcher knife. As they struggled over the knife, he said, police arrived.
The first officer on the scene reported in the probable cause statement that she found both Wilkins and the victim lying on the floor of the carport. The victim, she reported, managed to slide the knife to her, and then Wilkins was taken into custody while the victim was taken to the hospital.

Victim received several wounds in attack
According to the probable cause statement, the victim’s wounds included: multiple broken bones in his face and back, 12 broken ribs, three stab wounds to his chest and one to his back, a collapsed lung, abrasions to his arms, a cut on his left ear that required stitches and multiple other cuts and abrasions on his body.
The investigating officer reported that a search warrant was obtained for the residence, and evidence was found supporting the victim’s version of events. The officer also stated that he attempted to speak with Wilkins at the jail, but Wilkins refused the interview.
Wilkins is next due in court on Wednesday, Oct. 2, for a bond hearing. If he is convicted of all charges, he faces a maximum of 81 years in prison, with a requirement that 85-percent of his sentence be served before becoming eligible for parole.
