Willard baseball continues dominance, wins six games last week

The Class 5, third ranked Willard High School base- ball team traveled to U. S. Baseball Park in Ozark to take part in the Cox Health Festival on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, winning all four games that they played.
On Saturday, Willard knocked off Columbia Hick- man 20-3 and West Plains 14-4.
Against Hickman, the Tigers scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the third inning, one run in the fifth inning, five runs in the sixth inning and 10 runs in the seventh inning. Hickman scored two runs in the first inning and one run in the fifth inning.
Grant Harris was 2-6 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI’s; Garrett Rice went 2-3 with two doubles and two RBI’s, Cole Biellier was 2-5 with a double and a triple with a run scored and
three RBI’s, Ethan Thomp- son went 2-3 with a double, four runs scored and an RBI and Tyler Harre finished the game 2-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI’s.
Willard had an eight run second inning to put away West Plains, adding two more runs in the fourth in- ning and four runs in the fifth inning. The Zizzers scored three runs in the third inning and a single run in the fourth inning.
Jacob VanDoren went 1-3 with three RBI’s; Harris was 2-3 with a home run, with two runs scored and five RBI’s and Thompson was 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBI’s.
On Friday, April 19, the Tigers knocked off Kickapoo 10-0 and Glendale 13-3.
Willard didn’t score any runs until the third inning, when they plated two to take a 2-0. The Tigers added another eight runs in the fourth inning to lead 10-0. Willard pitching didn’t allow
a run and only two hits to Kickapoo.
Reece Dawson went 1-2 with a double and run scored and Biellier was 2-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBI’s.
Against Glendale, Willard scored a single run in the first inning; five runs in the third inning, three runs in the fourth inning and four runs in the fifth inning. Glendale scored their three runs in the second inning.
Noah Wooldridge went 2-3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI; Biellier was 3-3 with a double and four RBI’s and Dawson went 1-3 with a double and two RBI’s.
On Thursday, April 18, Willard traveled to Carl Junction and came home with an 11-1 win.
Willard scored one run in the first and fourth innings, six runs in the second in- ning and three runs in the fifth inning. Carl Junction scored their only run in the
third inning. Rice went 2-2 with a home
run, three runs scored and three RBI’s; Biellier was 1-3 with a double, Wooldridge was 1-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI’s and Dawson finished 2-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBI’s.
Willard opened the week traveling to Webb City on Tuesday, April 16, and was able to 10-run rule the Cardinals with an 11-1 win.
The Tigers scored three runs in both the first and fourth innings and five runs in the sixth inning. Webb City scored their lone run in the fifth inning.
Rice was 1-4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI; Harris went 3-4 with a double, a run scored and four RBI’s and Biellier went 2-4 with three RBI’s.
Willard is now 20-4 on the season.
