William “Bill” Johnson

William “Bill” Johnson, 72, of Walnut Grove, passed away, on Friday, April 5, 2019.
Johnson, the son of Bruce and Anna Jane (McMe- hen) Johnson, was born in Springfield Sept. 9, 1946.
Johnson was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Walnut Grove High School in 1964. He was a stockman and loved thoroughbred horse racing. He was also a staunch Democrat. He attended Sac River Cowboy Church and Walnut Grove United Methodist Church when he was able.
Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jane Bennoch.
Johnson is survived by his daughters, Leslie Schuh and husband Mark of Kansas City, Diane Smith and husband Justin of Walnut Grove; grandchildren, Calvin and Ellie Smith, Hannah and Sydney Schuh; sister, Ann Clark; other family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 1 p.m. to service time in the Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m., in Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Sac River Cowboy Church and may be left at the funeral home.
