William Corey Hurt

William Corey Hurt, 44, of Willard passed away Nov. 3, 2019 while residing at Sturthes Springs Springfield Care. He was born in Springfield May 14, 1976 to William Ralph and Mary Ellen (Reaves) Hurt, who are still living.
As a young man he was employed in dairy farming, roofing, framing and owner/operator of a hay hauling and weed cutting business. Once married, he owned and operated RACO Constructions, At Door Creations and a metal fabricating business. He graduated from Tulsa, Okla.,Welding School and recorded high scores. He was a master welder at Custom Metal Craft, con- structed Sonic restaurants nationwide, supervised the construction of multiple restaurant chains and was a journeyman carpenter at DeWitt Associates.
He was preceded in death by: his son, Lloyd Wyatt Hurt. He is survived by stepdaughter, Jenalee Nicole Sanders of Philadelphia, Pa.; daughter, Christen El- len Hurt; and grandson, Wyatt Pryor Hurt of Walnut Grove; five siblings, Lloyd C. and Leah Hurt, Chai D. Anderson, Allison C. Hurt, Chad E. (Cheney) Hurt, Courtenay L. Hurt; 31 nieces and nephews; and ma- ternal grandmother Alice (Agee) Reaves.
Services were held Sunday Nov. 10, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Birch Funeral Chapel in Ash Grove with Rev. Terry Gooch officiating. Burial followed in Ash Grove Cemetery under direction of Birch Funeral Home.
