William Corey Hurt

William Corey Hurt, 44, of Willard passed away Nov. 3, 2019 at Sunterra Springs Springfield. He was born May 14, 1975 in Springfield to William Ralph and Mary Ellen (Reaves) Hurt.
As a teenager he was employed in farming, roofing and residential construction and an owner-operator of a hay hauling and wood cutting business. While married, he became owner-operator of RACO Construction and a metal fabricating business. He graduated Tulsa Welding School with record high scores, becoming a master welder at custom metal craft, later building Sonic restaurants, supervising the construction of multiple restaurant chains, also working as a JOUR. carpenter for DeWitt & Assoc.
He is survived by: his parents; step-daughter Jen- alee Nicole Sanders of Pennsylvania; daughter Christen Ilene Hurt of Walnut Grove; siblings, L. Craig (Leah) Hurt, Cheri D. Anderson, A. Charlene Hurt, Chad E. (Cheney) Hurt and Courtenay L. Hurt; one grandson; one grandmother; and 31 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death Services were held Nov. 10, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Birch Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Ash Grove Cemetery under direction of Birch Funeral Home. W. C. Hurt memorial fund has been established at Old Missouri Bank, P.O. Box 218, Ash Grove, MO 65604.
