William Mast

William “Bill” Mast, 84, of Republic, passed away with his loving family by his side on June 18, 2020. He was born Aug. 28, 1935 in Arkansas City, Kan., to William and Ellena (Andrews) Mast. He was one of three children in the home. Mast enlisted in the Air Force and served four years. After his military service he became employed by Boeing as a Quality Control Inspector until his retirement after 34 years of dedicated service.Mast married Phyllis Salas and to this union they were blessed with five children, Rick, Russ, Greg, Brian and Kimberly. He later married Barbara Franz. After his retirement, Bill and Barbara relocated to Shell Knob, in 1995. They relocated to Republic in 1999. Mast was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Republic for 10 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Barbara and a sister. Mast is survived by his children; Rick, Russ, Greg and wife Nancy, Brian, and Kimberly Mast, Peggy and husband Doug Watkins, twograndsons; stepsons David, Charles and Tim Franz ,and friend Bonnie Gilmore. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday June 25, 2020 from 1-2 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will take place on Friday June 26, 2020 at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Wichita, Kan.
