Alan Comisky

Alan Comisky was born on July 11, 1938, to Frank and Irene (Wade) Comisky and passed away on May 2, 2026.

He attended Republic Schools, graduating with the class of 1956. He married Rosemary (Maness) on July 23, 1960. Their union was blessed with a loving and caring daughter, Alanna.

He proudly served his country with the US Army. Following his basic training, at Fort Leonard Wood, he was assigned to Headquarters Company in Dexheim, Germany. Before being drafted in the Army, he worked for Bacon Tire Company. When he returned to the states, a classmate, Don Brown, had opened Brown’s Glass shop in Republic. This is where his work as a Glazier began. He later worked for Pittsburg Plate Glass, and retired from Builders Glass & Products.

He was a member of Hood United Methodist Church and often served as a trustee. He also belonged to the Ozark Antique Auto Club, Southwest Missouri Model A Club, and the Heart of the Ozarks Model T Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Irene, in-laws Homer and Lois (Pope) Maness, brother Charles and wife Jan (Gilliam), and brother David.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Rosemary, daughter Alanna and husband Steve Strader and grandchildren; sister Lynda and husband Dick Davis, sister-in-law Kitty Comisky.

Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Services was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Hood United Methodist Church in Republic. He was escorted by Warriors’ Watch and laid to rest at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery - Springfield, promptly at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hood United Methodist Church or the Republic Historical Society Building Fund.
