Andrew Marshall DeJong

Andrew Marshall DeJong, 25, passed away on Dec. 19, 2025. He was born on Nov. 24, 2000 in Springfield.
He was a hard worker who took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed video games and cherished the simple comforts of life, especially spending time with his beloved dog, Stevie. Above all else, he deeply loved his family, with a special place in his heart for his nieces, who brought him great joy.
He is survived by his mother, Melissa Wirtz; his brothers, Jacob DeJong and Hunter Harralson; his nieces, Drew Olivia DeJong and Penelope James DeJong; his aunt, Carrie (Shawn) Bath; his uncle, Gary (Kellie) Wirtz; a special friend and neighbor who was like a second mother to him, Gail Medlin; and numerous cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Marsha Wirtz.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home Republic.
