ANN ADAMS
Ann Adams, 84, of West Monroe, La., formerly of Ash Grove passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at Cox South hospital in Springfield. She was born in West Monroe, La. on Dec. 10, 1939, the daughter of Herman Wiley Adams and Hattie May (Wilson) Adams.
She was very accomplished in the administrative side of women’s bowling. Nationally and locally. She was one of the top legal secretaries in LV once until she decided to become a 21 dealer.
After years in the bowling and casino industry in Las Vegas, she moved to Ash Grove where she focused on family and enjoyed a “semi-retirement”, while also volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house, and the Botanical Gardens in Springfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Ann Skelton-Smith; two sons, Gary Wayne (Jill) Skelton II and Sean (Diane) Adams O’Hair; six granddaughters, three great-grandchildren and a fourth on the way; and two brothers, John Raymond Adams and Jerry Wilson Adams.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Louise Adams Cagle, Aileen Ray Adams Shirley Holt Ruffin, Elaine Adams Downing and Ruth Esther Adams Freeland; and her sister-in-law; Bernardine (Jerry) Adams.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Mike Arico officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the services, beginning at 10 a.m.
