Bearl Denton Day

Bearl Denton Day, 92, of Republic, passed away in his home on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 1928 to Marion and Maude (Looney) Day in Greene County.
Day attended school in Republic. He worked as a crew leader for MODOT for more than 30 years, until his retirement. He married Maxine Conn on Oct. 28, 1946 and this union was blessed with three sons, Rick, Danny and Larry. He and Maxine were married 16 years until her passing in 1962. On Nov. 23,1963 he married Mary Ann Hessee. They added to their family when a daughter, Kimberli was born, joining her three older brothers.
Day was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Benton and Kenneth, one sister, Emogene McDaniel and his oldest son Rick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Ann; two sons, Danny Day and his wife Donna, and Larry Day and his wife Gail; daughter Kim Cole and her husband Greg; daughter-in-law Cindy Day, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a brother Leo Day, as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church (305 N Main Ave, Republic, Mo 65738).
A visitation was scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Republic. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lee Miller officiating. Day will be laid to rest in Wade Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home.
