CHARLES EDWARD HEDRICK

Charles Edward “Chuck” Hedrick, 89, of Billings passed away on Feb. 20, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family.  He was born March 1, 1934, in Camdenton, the son of Walter Franklin, Sr. and Mary Ione (Potter) Hedrick.  
At a young age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior being baptized at New Home Baptist Church. He graduated from Camdenton High School.  He moved to Springfield in November, 1952, and began a decades-long career at the Springfield News-Leader, remaining there until his retirement.
He was a member of the gospel band, Southern Harmony Brothers playing country and gospel music around the area.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley (Lambeth) Hedrick; three daughters, Pam (Jimmy) Lowe of Nashville, Tenn., Robin (Brian) Blackstock of Billings, and Kelly (Greg) Harter of Billings; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his pets which he affectionately called “the kitty-babies.”
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, at IOOF Cemetery in Marionville, officiated by David and Denise Hampton and under the care of Meadors Funeral Home.
