Community rallies for Allhands with Tacos for Tripp

Superheroes doing good were present at Tacos for Tripp. Here, Deadpool, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch and Supergirl pose for a photo.

Attendees make their way through the taco station.

Tacos for Tripp, an event to cover the medical expenses of local boy Tripp Allhands, went off without a hitch on Saturday, March 21 at American Carpet & Home Decor. The event, which featured a golf simulator, a silent auction and, of course, tacos, was well attended by the public, with an estimate by organizer Tonya Card-Evans, placing attendance at 500.

By the end of the event, more than $22,000 was raised for Tripp's medical battle. Tripp, 18 months young, is dealing with a one-in-a-million illness called Hoyeraal-Hreidarsson syndrome.

In statement following the event through the Team Tripp Facebook page, the Allhands family expressed their appreciation for the outpouring of community support.

“We just want to say thank you for today. Thank you to Tonya for putting together such an incredible event, and to every single person who helped make it happen. … And thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way and continues to love our boy…We feel it. We really do.”
