A phasing plan displays the order that each part of the development will be constructed.
More than 100 new homes slated just off Hwy. 160; around $250,000 per home to start
Creekside Meadows, a new housing development will soon be under construction on Ash Grove’s west side, promising to bring more than 100 homes to the area. Project developer Spencer Goodman hosted a groundbreaking with the city of Ash Grove on Thursday, March 13, to celebrate the beginning of construction on the project.
The groundbreaking saw the participation of many city officials, including the mayor and aldermen. All of these members of the community gathered and took part in the first symbolic step to building these new houses.
“I appreciate the city of Ash Grove... and their willingness to have this opportunity of growth in this community,” said Goodman.
The houses will be built primarily by Kenny Singer Construction, at least at the beginning. Following the groundbreaking, Goodman said he hopes to take over some of the construction eventually. Goodman said that though he does not have any prior experience in residential construction, but he expects that his background in agriculture will help him in undertaking his plan.
“I don’t have any concrete plans as far as building the homes myself, but potentially in the later phases I may potentially get involved on the building side,” said Goodman.
Five phases
The building will be undertaken in five phases, with the first phase estimated by Goodman to be complete as early as June. The following phases, though, will likely take longer, with the assumed wait being two to five years. Goodman expects that by the end of the project there will be over 100 houses sitting on 45 total acres.
$250,000 homes to start
The single-family residences, according to Goodman, will likely be smaller than 2,000 square feet. With this type of housing comes a starter home price, which Goodman said will hopefully be in the $250,000 to $300,000 range. With these “starter homes,” Goodman said he hopes to bring some growth to the city and flexibility to home buyers. He added that this is his way of helping the city, as its growth has not been steady over the years.
“Ash Grove has traditionally, over the last several years, been somewhat stagnant as far as growth,” said Goodman. “So I think it just brings excitement.”
