Dannie Duane O'Neal

Dannie Duane O'Neal, 73, of Republic passed away on June 11, 2026, in Republic. Born on June 29, 1952, in Covington, Va.

He spent his formative years in Republic, where he attended Republic High School. He later pursued further education at Vatterott College in Springfield,  

A man of diverse interests, he found joy in playing war games and chess. He also had a love for music and could often be heard singing Irish songs with enthusiasm. He was a man of faith who attended South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church. 

He is remembered fondly by his children Duane Lee Bridges and his wife Aleta Bridges, Dana Marie Nave and her husband Justin, and Elaina Renee O’Neal; his cherished grandchildren; his sisters Shayne Ford, Katie O'Neal, Beth (James) Brooks; and his former spouse and longtime friend Rose O'Neal. 

He was predeceased by his parents Duane and Joyce O'Neal, as well as his sister Sarah Pruitt.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. June 20 at Wade Chapel Cemetery in Republic.
