Dominy gets 35 years for child pornography, sexual exploitation of toddler-aged child

A Republic man was sentenced to 35 years in prison for sexually exploiting an underaged girl and receiving and distributing child pornography. Vincent Dominy, 30, was sentenced at the United States District Courthouse in Springfield on Wednesday, Feb. 23. He pleaded guilty to the charges on Sept. 23, 2021.

Background of the case
According to the probable cause statement in the case, a task force officer with the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force (SMCCTF) began investigating Dominy in August of 2020 after receiving a Cyber Tip Line report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Employees of Yahoo! Contacted NCMEC and submitted 26 images of child pornography which had been transmitted on an e-mail address belonging to Dominy.
The task force officer reviewed the images and included a description of five of them in the probable cause statement. Dominy was included in the images.
 SMCCTF officers executed a search warrant on Dominy’s residence on Aug. 24. In a post-Miranda interview, Dominy admitted to making the pornographic images of the girl and sharing them on the Internet. He also admitted to regularly engaging in chats at a website where, he said, the users regularly exchanged images of child pornography.

Dominy to attend treatment programs in prison, be on supervised release after serving sentence
At his sentencing, Dominy received 30 years for the sexual exploitation charge, followed by a five-year sentence for the charge of receiving and distributing child pornography; it was recommended that he also participate in a sex-offender treatment program and a substance abuse treatment program.
After he serves his sentence, Dominy will be on supervised release for 15 years. As of press time, Dominy remained in the custody of the Greene County Jail, where he has been held since May 4, 2021.
