RPD, Republic Pregnancy Center bring Christmas
The Republic Police Department joined forces with the Republic Pregnancy Resource Center Thursday, Dec. 21, to provide a helping hand to six families and 19 kids this holiday season. Republic officers went shopping for personalized gifts for the kids, wrapped them and then delivered them. Republic Chief of Police Brian Sells said that the act of kindness would not have been possible without donations from area businesses.
As part of the gift giving, Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance. In a Facebook post detailing the charitable act, the police department expressed their objective this season, to spread holiday cheer.
“Our goal was to make this Christmas a little brighter,” it said.
