Fern Lucille Myers, 88, of Republic passed away on Feb. 27, 2024, in her home.  She was born on July 2, 1935, in Steelville, one of three children born to John and Faye (Poynter) Clark.
On Aug. 5, 1956, she married John William Myers, and they were blessed with two children, Doug and Deniece. They shared 53 years together before his passing in 2010.
She worked at First National Bank in Joplin and at St. John’s Hospital of Springfield. She owned and operated the Pioneer Restaurant in Versailles alongside her husband for many years. They were members of the “Slippers and Boots” Square Dance Club of Joplin, The Mustang Club of America and The Shriners.
She is survived by her children, Doug (Carole) Myers and Deniece Yendes; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; her brother, Johnny Clark; and her sister, Bernice Boyce.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, March 5, at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. A private family burial was held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
