Four arrested in alleged break in at Marionville Powersports
Apprehended after chase into Greene County
Four men are in custody after they allegedly broke into Marionville Powersports on Thursday, July 25, took property from the business and fled from police eventually to be caught in Willard. Ty’Anthony Woods-Hayes, 21, Anthony Moore, 20, Deanthony Johnson, 19, and D’Marco Thomas, 24, are charged with second degree burglary, resisting arrest and first degree property damage. Woods-Hayes, Johnson and Moore are also charged with stealing of $25,000 or more, while Thomas is charged with stealing-motor vehicle/watercraft/aircraft. All of the men are from Kansas City, Kan. except for Moore, who is from Mexico, Mo.
Facts in the case
According to the probable cause statements for each suspect in the case, on July 25, the four men forced their entry into Marionville Power Sports around 5:24 a.m.,
damaging the front glass window in the process. The men then allegedly began taking dirt bikes and loaded them into the back of a U-Haul vehicle.
After a pursuit that went into Greene County, the four men left the vehicle and ran into some nearby woods, despite officers yelling at them that they were under arrest; they allegedly remained hidden until being located by officers. The four men were each eventually located, arrested and booked into the Lawrence County Jail.
According to information provided by the Aurora-Marionville Police Department (AMPD) on social media, the men allegedly took six dirt bikes, all recovered. They also allegedly stole the U-Haul vehicle used in the theft. AMPD also stated that the U-Haul vehicle was disabled on I-44 near Monett.
What’s next
Each of the men appeared in court on Monday, July 29, where they all formally waived arraignment. They are each scheduled to appear back in court on Thursday, Aug. 1, for a bond hearing.
