Georgia Lee Howe Hohenfeldt

Georgia Lee Howe Hohenfeldt, 94, of Springfield, passed away on Sept. 21, 2025, at Jacob’s Care Center in Springfield. Survivors include four children, Ralph (Delaine) Hohenfeldt, of Rolla; Vicki (Freddie) Hale, of Republic; Peggy Miller of Auxvasse; Dale (Tonya) Hohenfeldt, of Rogersville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
She was born at home in Kliever, on March 15, 1931, to John and Addie Howe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Hohenfeldt, brother Harold Howe, and son-in-law Wes Miller.
She graduated from California High School. She attended Draughon’s Business College and worked as a news typesetter at Springfield News and Leader. She met and married Harold Hohenfeldt while both worked at the Springfield News and Leader.
She was a Christian, active in Southern Baptist Churches wherever she lived. While a member of First Baptist Church in Republic, she played the organ and was church secretary.  At the time of her death, she was a member of First Baptist Church in California, Mo. She was an active member of the quilting ministry, worked in the church library, and a member of the Gideon’s Women Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, knitting, quilting, going to Southern Gospel Music concerts, traveling and spending time with family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Women’s Ministries at First Baptist Church in California, Mo., or Jacob’s Ladder a not for profit support for those in need of end of life care, located in Springfield.
