Imogene J. Kettell

Imogene J. Kettell, 109, Republic, passed away Feb. 25, 2021, at Lakewood Assisted Living, Springfield. She was born Aug. 5, 1911 in Afton Okla., the eldest daughter of George E. and Ivey M. Vanderford.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Clarence G. Kettell, her daughter, Barbara L. Bennett, her sister Georgia W. Skinner, her brother James M. Vanderford, her sons-in-law Raymond Bennett and John Reed and her great- granddaughter Nicole Bennett.
Kettell’s survivors include her sister, Betty Sue Olmstead Reed, her son, Clarence G. Kettell Jr., her daughter Marilou Ann Reed, four granddaughters, and six grandsons. Survivors also include 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great- grandchildren.
Kettell worked as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years. She was a woman of many talents including sewing, painting, and enjoying cooking for friends and family. She was a member of the Eastern Star, an active member of the Red Hats, and a member of the First Christian Church where she sang in the choir.
In lieu of flowers, donate to your favorite charity, the First Christian Church of Republic, or the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at First Christian Church of Republic. Visitation was at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
Burial followed immediately at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
