Jackie Ray Shuler

Jackie Ray Shuler, 76, was born Sept. 18,1949 in Springfield and passed away on May 23, 2026. He was the son of Charles Dean Shuler and Billie Jo Barber Shuler. He was married to Colleen Shuler on Dec. 31, 1981, who preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 2020.

He graduated from Central High School in 1967 and attended Ozark Christian College in Joplin. He began his career working for Clark Gas Service Stations. Starting in the early 1970’s he began collaborating with his father, Charles, operating a family-owned service station. First, as a retailer for Derby Gas Company on College Street Road and later for Sinclair Petroleum Company on Chestnut Expressway. He assumed full control of the service station in the early 2000’s working with nephew Charlie Hampton and grandson, Kris Dukes.

He is survived by five children and their spouses. Shelly and Scott Deckard of Bois D’Arc, Tina and Mark Scott of Golden, Kenna and Billie McClanahan of Clever, Jennifer, and Joey Staton of Claremore, Okla. and Jason and Jeannie Shuler of Claremore, Okla. He is survived by four siblings and their spouses. John and Earnita Shuler of Fort Worth, Texas, Gary and Cynthia Shuler of Billings, Suzi and Michael Hampton of Republic and Jim and Roseanne Shuler of Nixa. He is also survived by special friend Ruby Perriman, sister-in-law Lucy Thompson, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Shuler, his mother Billie Jo Shuler, and granddaughter Jami Dawn Ginn.

He accepted the Lord as his savior on Feb. 27, 1967, with his brother, Gary, at a Christian youth rally at Glendale Christian Church in Springfield and was baptized by pastor Don Gee. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Springfield. He taught Sunday School and was the song leader. He was ordained as a deacon of the church on Feb. 19, 2017. He was proud to be a part of the church family at Faith Baptist.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3506 N. National Ave, Springfield. Funeral services will follow at noon on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Greenlawn. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens located at 5234 W. State Highway EE, Springfield. Officiating minister is Mark Orchard of Faith Baptist Church.
