JERRY WAYNE GIRTH

Jerry Wayne Girth, 77, of Billings passed away on Sept. 18, 2024. He was born in Springfield on Feb. 4, 1947; the son of Virgil and Myrtle (Hacker) Girth.
After serving his country as a medic in the Army from Jan. 5, 1967, to Dec. 5, 1968, reaching the rank of SP4, Jerry built a successful career as a Sanitation superintendent for Hudson Foods Company.
In his free time, he found solace and joy in annual fishing trips to the Great Lakes in Canada, where the thrill of reeling in a catch brought him immense happiness. He also treasured moments spent camping, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda; daughter, Tamara McCarthy of Springfield; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Larry, Betty, Barbara and Bob.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 23, at Greenlawn North in Springfield. He was laid to rest with full military honors following the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
