Jimmie Gene Hagewood

Jimmie Gene Hagewood, 92, of Billings passed away on Dec. 27, 2025, in his home after a long battle with lymphoma. He was born near Republic on Aug. 20, 1933, to Oca and Gladys Hagewood. He graduated from Republic High School in 1951 and married Faye Brashers in 1954. To this union, two children were born, Mike and Ann.
In 1993, he retired from the Springfield plant of Syntex Agribusiness, formerly known as Hoffman-Taff, after 33 years of service. He thoroughly enjoyed retirement and tending to his cows, chickens, and large garden, from which he liked to share his produce. He and Faye took many bus tours throughout the country and Canada.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Faye; their son Mike Hagewood and his wife Dannetta, of Billings; daughter Ann Meyer and her husband Keith, of Aurora; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy High, Ermal Vernick and Sharon Crosswhite, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roy Lee and Johnie, and an infant sister.
He was a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist church and appreciated his church family.
His family received friends and relatives from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Jan. 2, at Meadors Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at noon. He was laid to rest in Blades Chapel Cemetery following his funeral services.
