KENNETH SHERMAN PAYNE

Kenneth Sherman Payne, born Sept. 23, 1931, of Bois D’ Arc passed away on Aug. 27, 2024, at the age of 92, after a long illness.
He was an Air Force veteran and spoke often of the places he had been in service to his country. He was employed by Boeing and McDonald Douglas, crafting mostly circuit boards, wiring instrument panels and various assembly positions at both airplane manufacturers. He then worked for 16 years traveling for Bell & Howell repairing microfiche machines at several businesses in the tri-state area.
He is survived by his children: Ginny (Tom) Smith of Pikeville, Tenn., Michael Payne  and Brian Payne both of Springfield; his sister, Mary Lu Kilburn of Bois D’Arc and his beloved companion of several years, Elanor Wilson of Halfway; seven grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Lois.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Ash Grove.
