LANNY EARL LLOYD

Lanny Earl Lloyd, 89, of Brookline passed away Dec. 23, 2023 in Springfield. He was born Jan. 19, 1934, to Ernest and Beatrice Lloyd in Kennett.
He graduated from Kennett High School in his home town before enlisting in the United States Army. He went on to further his studies at California Baptist College, receiving his B.S. in Education. After that he continued his education at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, Calif. where he received his M.A. in religious education, and was a minister for 52 years.
He married Joyce Anita Russell on Sept. 2, 1960. To this union two children were born, Jeffrey Todd Lloyd and Melanie Leigh Lloyd.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Springfield; son, Jeffery (Jenna) Lloyd of Easthampton, Mass.; daughter, Melanie (Jared) Roth of Springfield; two grandsons; sister-in-law, Judy Boll of Springfield; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Kenneth and Jack Lloyd.
Services, led by Minister Craig Liscom, will be held on at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Springfield. A final salute will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024 at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, followed by a brief service at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery at 2 p.m. where he will be laid to rest.
