Larry Earl Skinner

Larry Earl Skinner, 79, Springfield, passed away Jan. 27, 2021. He was born Dec. 8, 1941 in Carroll, Iowa to Earl and Lucille (Wohlenberg) Skinner. He was the youngest of four siblings in the home.
He graduated from Auburn High School in Auburn, Iowa in 1959. He enlisted in the Air Force and served one tour in Vietnam. He married Lois Pierce on July 27, 1969 and to this union they were blessed with two children, Joy and Eric. Skinner was a farmer and enjoyed his farming time in mostly rural Auburn and Calhoun County. Larry and Lois decided, in 2014, to relocate to Springfield, along with her two sisters to seek warmer weather.
Skinner was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lyle Skinner, and sister Carlene Allard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Lois, daughter, Joy Kraft, son Eric Skinner, two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sister Jeanette (Wendall) Volkens, sisters-in-law; Phyllis Skinner, Lenore (Tony) Frisbie and Marilyn Christian, brother-in-law; Clarence (SunYo) Pierce, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
A private funeral has been planned with burial at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
