MICHEL WILLIAM BURTON

Michel William Burton, 80, of Willard passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024. He was born on Jan. 2, 1944, in Springfield.
He attended Pleasant Hope High School before serving in the Army during the Vietnam War. As an Army veteran, he received the Purple Heart for his bravery and service to his country.
After his military service, he had a successful career as a business owner.
He is survived by his wife, Ellie; his three daughters, Stacy, Angie, and Michelle; as well as his 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson and another great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Burton; mother, Ruby June (Rainey) Choate; stepfather, Hershel Choate; and son-in-law Frank DeMartino.
Services were held on Friday, Feb. 9, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial followed at Springfield National Cemetery with full military honors.
Care was been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory in Springfield.
