Milton Andrew King

Milton Andrew King was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Proctor, Texas to John Andrew King and Ida Adelaide (Allen) King. He grew up in a humble household with four sisters: Helen, Mary, Margaret and Sandra, along with a brother Donald. He passed away suddenly on Oct. 10, 2025, at his home in Republic.
In 1954 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His first duty station was Travis AFB in California where he met and married Martha (Taylor) King, his wife of 69 years. He made a career in the Air Force serving for 23 and a half years, and ascended to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant before his retirement in 1978. His service included duty stations across the United States and South East Asia. He was a member of the local VFW Post #4593 where he served in the offices of Commander & Quartermaster. He was also a member of the American Legion #676.
He was a self-taught silversmith and ‘rock-hound’. He made many pieces of jewelry for family and friends. He was a life member of the Ozark Mountain Gem and Mineral Society. He taught many middle school students and scouts about fossils and rocks.
He is survived by his wife Martha (Taylor) King; son Scott (Joan) King, of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter Tracy King, of Springfield; sister Sandra King, of Rocklin, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and many friends. In lieu of flowers donations my be made in his name to Fair Haven Children’s Home in Strafford.
