Heather Davis, 26, of Republic was jailed on Friday, Aug. 26, on three counts of fourth-degree assault after she allegedly failed to appear at a bench trial for those charges which was scheduled to take place in May. However, her legal woes don’t stop there.
In addition to her charges of assault, Davis had four more charges filed against her in Greene County on Wednesday, Sept. 7: Operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, operating a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility, failure to display license plates and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Davis also faces charges in Christian County, including two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Assault charges
According to the probable cause statement in the case of the assault charges, a Springfield police officer reported that on Nov. 27, 2019, Davis was at Mercy Hospital in Springfield when she allegedly attacked three people there. The officer reported that one individual said Davis allegedly spit into the eye and possibly the mouth of a man who was restraining her arm, and when he let go, punched him and then allegedly bit his fingers when he took hold of her arm again. Davis allegedly also pushed a second person as she tried to leave the room she was in, and as restraints were being put on her, allegedly kicked a third person in the stomach.
The probable cause statement did not say why Davis was at the hospital, and Dan Patterson, Greene County prosecuting attorney, declined to comment on the case, citing the Missouri Supreme Court Rules of Professional Conduct.
Information on the other charges against Davis in Greene County was not available as of press time.

Charges in Christian County
The charges against Davis in Christian County stem from two incidents. The three charges of possession of a controlled substance and one charge of possession of drug paraphernalia stem from the first alleged incident.
According to the probable cause in the first incident, Davis had been searched in the Christian County Jail on Dec. 2, 2020 and a needle and a spoon with a white and yellow “rock substance” were found in her bra. Allegedly, she told the officer who searched her that the substance was heroin. The statement did not indicate why she was in the jail originally.
According to the probable cause statement, a drug chemistry certified report stated that the residue on the spoon contained methamphetamine, fentanyl and heroin and that the yellow and white substance was heroin.
A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and the charge of driving with a suspended or revoked license stem from the second alleged incident.
According to the probable cause for the second incident, on Dec. 30, 2020, Davis was subjected to a traffic stop after she was reported for allegedly stealing from the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Ozark. The officer asked her if she had been to Wal-Mart and if she had taken any items while there but she denied taking anything from the store.
The officer ran Davis name through dispatch and learned that she had an active warrant out with the Republic Police Department and had a suspended driver’s license. The officer then detained Davis and searched her purse, with her permission, to see if there was any merchandise from the Ozark Wal-Mart.
None was found, but in a pink bag found inside the purse, the officer reported he found 11 used hypodermic syringes, three measuring spoons with burnt brown residue on them and a small plastic bag with five pieces of cotton with a brown color, which the officer stated were used to “filter controlled substances.”
The officer stated they asked if Davis used heroin; she allegedly replied, “Yes.”
Davis was taken to the Christian County Justice Center, where she was booked and released.

Other charges
According to online records, Davis also faces municipal charges in Republic for stealing, failure to register a vehicle and operating a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. She is scheduled to appear in court regarding her charges in Greene County on Thursday, Oct. 13.
