REV. DAVID B. GRAY

Reverend David B. Gray, a beloved Southern Baptist pastor, husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, passed away on Dec. 17, 2024. He was born on July 14, 1941, to Dr. William A. and Gladys M. (Stearns) Gray.
He was joined in marriage to Rosemary Bahrns Gray in 1992 and together they built a life grounded in faith, love, and service to others.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; twin children: John David (Carrie) Gray and Julie (Mike) Davis; step-children, Duane (Juliana) Martin and Todd (Sonja) Martin;  his sister, Jane (John) Nelson; nine grandchildren and their spouses; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and sister; and older sisters, Patricia Gharst and Carolyn Joyce Kinder.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, Ill. A celebration of his life and ministry will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt Vernon, Ill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield.
