RUBYE “KAY” EDWARDS HAMBY

Rubye “Kay” Edwards Hamby, 81 of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024. She was born on Feb. 17, 1943, in Tula, Miss.; the daughter of Q.T. and Rubye Mae (Ard) Edwards.
In October 1963, she married Charles Leonard Hamby, and they shared over 60 years together.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie; their daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Hedges ; brother, Gary (Lita) Edwards; sister, Betty Jean Edwards-Chapuis; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as other family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents;  her in-laws, Charles and Mary Belle Hamby; daughter, Debra Kay Hamby and an infant daughter; and her brother, Quinton Edwards.
Graveside services were held on Friday, Sept. 27, at Greene Lawn Cemetery in  Walnut Grove.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Ash Grove.
