SHIRLEY JEAN HUBBARD
Shirley Jean Hubbard, age 84, of Perdido Beach, Alabama; formerly of Aurora, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 24, 2024. She was one of the two children of the late James and Francis (Powers) Andrews.
Shirley was born and raised in Aurora Missouri, graduating from Aurora High School in 1957.
Shirley enjoyed four years of her husband Denzel’s five-year tour in the United States Air Force and was the joint owner and operator of Green County Propane for many years. She and her husband entered retirement in 1998 and were happily married for 49 years.
Shirley enjoyed being with her family, painting, working in their flower garden, and yard. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. She maintained a trademark of crafting oil paintings, watercolors and stained-glass art. Shirley was never outdone decorating for various holidays (even Mardi Gras) and had a dedicated theme for every room of her home.
Shirley was a beloved wife and mother. She is survived by her beloved Jack Russel Terrier, DJ; son, Captain Mark Hubbard, USN (retired) and wife Robyn of Locust Grove, Georgia; daughter, Gail Head accompanied by Mike Head of Sharpsburg, Georgia; sister, Kitty Nichols and husband Ed of Camdenton, Missouri; brother-in-law, and DeWayne Hubbard and sister-in-law, Peggy of Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband Denzel in 2009.
Shirley is also survived by five grandchildren, Kendra Anderson and husband Richie of Laton, California; Cody Hubbard and wife Breann of Locust Grove, Georgia; Katelin Casillas and husband Phillip of Lemoore, California; Lucas and Lindsey Head, both of Sharpsburg, Georgia; 10 great-grandchildren, Malakhai, Peyton, and Ella Anderson of Laton, California; Lilly, Eve, and Lincoln Hubbard of Locust Grove, Georgia; Gavin, Maverick, Kesler, and Sophia Casillas of Lemoore, California; nephew Christopher Nichols of Camdenton, Missouri and countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know and love her.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the funeral home chapel. A burial will follow at the Goss Cemetery northwest of Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
