STANLEY LEROY FASTENAU

Stanley LeRoy Fastenau, 84, of Willard passed away on Dec. 26, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was born at Bertrand, Neb. on April 14, 1939, along with twin brother Sterling, to Andrea Johanna (Pedersen) Fastenau and Thomas Conrad Fastenau.
He and his siblings were in an orphanage at the Christian Childrens Home, in Holdrege, Neb. until the age of 15. He attended high school at Omaha Technical High School and obtained his associate’s degree from Omaha University.
His career path lead him to Omaha Testing Laboratory, Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, Union Pacific Railroad Company, Bureau of Explosives AAR, and Federal Railroad Administration where he retired in 2005 after 31 years of service.
He attended Heritage Campus, Ozark Family Church Free Will Baptist in Springfield.
In October 1961 he married Alice B (Chico) Fastenau, together they had two daughters, Donna and Deborah. They were married for 43 years when she passed away in June of 2005.
In September 2006 he married Nelda (Beavers) Fastenau; together they had one daughter, Janice.
He is survived by his second wife, Nelda; his three daughters, Donna Marie Drake, Deborah Ann Price, and Janice Lusk; his brother, Herb Peterson, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Alice; his twin brother Sterling; and three sisters, Wilma, Lois, and Donna.
Services will be held at a later date in Omaha, Neb.
