We can be heroes – in Republic
Lt. Garron Cantrell and firefighter Cole Metheny, both of the Republic Fire Department, help Cole Glenn, 16, pick out items for this shopping spree. Among the items he bought, Cole chose some controllers for his X-Box, rechargeable batteries and other items.

RPD hosts annual Shop with a Hero event
The Republic Police Department hosted “Shop with a Hero” at the Republic Walmart on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Firefighters and EMTs joined police officers to help the 30 area kids who took part in the event to shop for the holidays. Each child was given a shopping spree and allowed to purchase whatever they wanted within that amount.
