WILLIAM N. “BILL” WHITE

William N. “Bill” White, 100, passed away on Dec. 22, 2023, at his home in Springfield surrounded by several family members. He was born March 5, 1923, in Springfield, the son of Grover P. and Myrtle White.
He is the final one of his original family.
He graduated from Senior High School, now known as Central, in 1941. He met Ida Mae West there and married her shortly after graduation, July 27, 1941 and together they had four children. They were married for 67 years when she passed away in 2008.
From 1943-1946, he proudly served in the Army Air Corp. His lifelong work was in the electrical business field. He owned SoMo Electric, Sentry Security, and Dameron Electric. He did work all over Springfield for many years and retired at age 74.
On Jan. 16, 2010, he married Gail Jackson. She brought two adult children, Doug and Teresa into the now blended family.
He was a longtime faithful member of Watermill Church of Christ in Springfield.
He is survived by his second wife, Gail; his four children, Jerry (Marian) White of Warrensburg, David, (Ginger) White of Willard, Peggy (Darrell) Lindsey of Mountain Grove, and Randy (Rose) White of Florida; his step-children, Doug (Deb) Jackson of Springfield and Teresa (Byron) Curtis of Edmond, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepson son, Joe (Nancy) Jackson.
Visitation and funeral services were held on Dec. 29, at Greenlawn North Funeral Home with full military honors held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens following the service.
