Everett “Lee” Cowan, 69, of Walnut Grove passed away Aug. 16, 2025 after an almost two-year battle of heart disease. Cowan was born on July 8, 1956 to Genevieve and Everett Cowan in Humansville.

Bobby Lee Schell, 71, of Springfield passed away in his home Aug. 14, 2025. Schell was born Aug. 22, 1953, in Tulsa. He attended Hillcrest High School.
Schell was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Clever. He worked for Wells Tire as a wrecker driver.

Patricia “Patty” Ann Ayers, 71, of Walnut Grove, passed away Aug. 14, 2025. She was born on March 17, 1954, in Independence, to Lawrence and Katherine (Barrett) Lynch. On May 29, 1994, Patty and Stephen Ayers were united in marriage and shared over 31 years together.

Mary Lou Phelps, 87, of Springfield passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Springfield Rehabilitation and HealthCare Center in Springfield. She was born in Clarion, Iowa, on Sept. 21, 1937; the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Baker) Morrow.
In 1966, she married James Hugh Phelps.

Mark McClelland, 67, of Billings passed away on Aug. 6, 2025. He was born in Cassville on May 13, 1958; the son of Gerald McClelland and Oleta Faye Howerton McClelland.
On June 5, 1981, he married Robin Kromas. They celebrated 44 years of marriage this year.
Darrel D. McKinzie, 82, of Brookline passed away on July 30, 2025. He was born in Bentonville, Ark. on Jan. 14, 1943; the ninth of ten children born to Roy Charles and Pearl Opal McKinzie.
Leona Mae (Earp) Lenz, 81, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Springfield. She was born on March 31, 1944, in Monmouth, Ill., the daughter of George H. and Leona M. (Skidmore) Earp.
