10th Reindeer Run a stone cold success

Cold weather couldn’t stop the hoards of runners at the newly lit J.R. Martin Park Friday night at the 10th Annual Reindeer Run 5K. This year’s run brought in 265 registrants from 40 different cities, ranging in age from 6 to 84 years old. “We are so thankful to all those that participated in this year’s Reindeer Run.  Many of our participants have made this 5K an annual tradition, coming back year after year to take part in the event with family and friends,” said Community Outreach Superintendent Jennafer Mayfield. “We invested a little more this year in Christmas lighting at The Amp to take the Reindeer Run 5K to the next level and to leave up for the public to enjoy throughout the holiday season. The lights will be on in the evenings until after Christmas.”  (Photo by Ryan Squibb)
