As part of a fundraiser organized by the city of Ash Grove, 96 small flags were sold and flown in Ash Grove’s triangle median on Walker Street last week beginning on Veterans Day. After expenses, a total of $818.49 was raised by the inaugural event. The proceeds will be used toward revamping the Veterans Memorial. The flags were placed in metal display frames built by the Ash Grove FFA Chapter. The original idea spawned from the University of Missouri Extension program Leadership Ash Grove, held last year. Other projects culminating from the class were a drug take back day, community garden and a youth bike inspection rodeo. (Photo by Ryan Squibb)
