Annual National Night Out hosted at Republic Rec Center

National Night out in Republic was held at the Republic Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Aug. 6; approximately 200 people attended. The purpose of National Night Out was to give community members and local first-responders a chance to get to know each another. Members of the Republic Fire and Police departments, the Na- tional Guard, the Greene County K-9 unit and para- medics were on hand to speak with visitors and give them information. The evening also featured free food, a demonstration by the K-9 unit, drawings for backpacks filled with school supplies, a kayak race competition and an evening of free swimming at the aquatic center.
