Ash Grove R-4 rallies the troops

Left, Ash Grove School District staff line up to load school buses with food the morning of Tuesday, March 31, at Ash Grove High School. The 40-50 volunteers arrive daily from 7-8 a.m. to load eight school buses running routes to get food out to students who are home during the district’s wellness break. Above, Bois D’Arc Elementary Principal Dr. Karie Julian trucks a cart of food and milk to awaiting families who pick up directly. On average 40-70 kids are fed thanks to a direct pick up at the school, according to district Superintendent Dr. Aaron Gerla.
