Bois D’Arc man arrested for cattle theft
The Greene County Sheriff’s office has announced the arrest of Joseph Tummons, Bois D’Arc, who has been arrested for the theft of six calves that had been reported missing by a neighboring cattleman Dec. 31, 2018. The calves were reportedly stolen from a Greene County farm and recovered by deputies in the 8200 block of West Farm Road 94.
Tummons was booked into the Greene County Jail for felony stealing.
Tummons allegedly kept his neighbor’s escaped calves, swapped the original tags out for his own and directly branded over his neighbor’s brand. He also allegedly moved the calves to other pastures in hopes of going undetected. Tummons was contacted by the neighbor about the missing calves weeks before the discovery of the calves in Tummons’ possession. The investigation is ongoing.
